Getting there

Car

From the Malolotja Nature Reserve entrance, drive towards the Nhlangano road (MR3). Follow the MR3 for approximately 12 km until you reach the junction with the MR1 road. Take the MR1 road towards Nkhaba. Drive for another 10 km. Look for signs indicating Top Potholes or use GPS coordinates (Latitude: -26.0715383, Longitude: 31.1044058) to guide you. The Top Potholes will be accessible from a small dirt road leading off from the MR1. Make sure to park your vehicle safely along the roadside.

Public Transportation

If you are using public transportation, you can take a local taxi or bus from Nhlangano to Nkhaba. Inform the driver that you are heading towards Top Potholes, as they may not have specific stops. Once you arrive in Nkhaba, you might need to arrange for a local taxi to take you the last few kilometers to Top Potholes (approximately 5 km). Ensure to negotiate the fare in advance, which should cost around 50-100 SZL (Swazi Lilangeni).

Walking

If you're already within Malolotja Nature Reserve, you can hike to Top Potholes. From the nearest lodge, follow the marked trails towards the northern part of the reserve. Be sure to carry a map or download a trail app to navigate accurately. The hike is about 3 km and should take around 1-2 hours depending on your pace. Ensure you have enough water and snacks for the journey.
