Unity Park: A Cultural Oasis in Addis Ababa

Getting There

• Walking

  If you're starting from Meskel Square, head northeast towards the intersection with Churchill Avenue. Continue straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach the roundabout at the 4 Kilo area. Take the second exit onto Ato Melaku Bulu Street, continue for another 500 meters, and then turn right onto the road leading into Unity Park. Follow the signs, and you will arrive at Unity Park on your left.

• Public Transport (Minibus)

  From Addis Ababa Bole International Airport, take a minibus labeled 'Mekelakeya' or 'Arada.' Board the minibus at the airport terminal and ride until you reach the 'Arada' station. Once you disembark, walk south along the main road until you reach Unity Park, which will be approximately a 15-minute walk. Look for the entrance sign of Unity Park on your left.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer to cycle, you can rent a bicycle near your accommodation. Start from the Piazza area and head towards Ras Mekonnen Road. Cycle straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Ato Melaku Bulu Street. Turn left and continue for another 700 meters, where you will see Unity Park on your right. Make sure to follow the local traffic rules and stay safe while cycling.

• Taxi (Ride-hailing app)

  Open your ride-hailing app (like Ride or ZayRide) on your smartphone and enter 'Unity Park' as your destination. Confirm your ride and wait for your driver to arrive. Once in the taxi, it should take approximately 15-20 minutes from the city center to reach Unity Park. Keep an eye on the route to familiarize yourself with the area.
