From Debre Libanos Monastery, head south on the main road (A2) for about 70 kilometers. Continue straight until you reach the junction with the Bole Medhane Alem road. Turn left onto Bole Medhane Alem road and drive for approximately 10 kilometers. You will see signs for the Black Lion Zoo (Cave) on your right. Follow these signs for another 5 minutes, and you will arrive at the zoo located at coordinates 9.0229515, 38.7645276.
Public Transport

From Debre Libanos Monastery, take a minibus headed to Addis Ababa. This ride will take about 1.5 hours and costs approximately 30 Ethiopian Birr. Get off at the Bole Medhane Alem area. From there, you can either walk or take a local taxi to the Black Lion Zoo (Cave), which is about 2 kilometers away. If walking, head east on Bole Medhane Alem road and follow the signs for the zoo.
