2-Day Awash National Park Safari & Doho from Addis Ababa

Wonderful visit to Awash and Ali Dege Parks

We saw a ton of different bird in Awash and Ali Dege Park. We did see some add'l wildlife such as Nile Crocodile, different baboons, gazelles, zebra, oryx, and did-diks. We actually did a 3 day tour so that we had more time in the parks and stayed 2 nights at Doho Lodge. Liyu tours supplied us with a driver (Danny) and a guide (Abel) who did a great job for us. The guide was very knowledgable and always ready to help and answer questions. We did utilize an add'l park ranger in the reserves to help find the wildlife and identify it, and they were fantastic. Doho Lodge is in a beautiful setting. It is rustic, but has beautiful grounds, good food, and hot water springs.

2 Days Awash National Park

An Amazing 2-Day Awash National Park Experience

We had a wonderful 2-day trip to Awash National Park with Danakil Depression Tours, and it was a great experience from beginning to end. The whole trip was well organized, relaxed, and gave us a chance to see a very different side of Ethiopia away from the busy cities. Our guide, Yohans, was excellent. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely interested in making sure we had a good experience. He explained the wildlife, landscape, and local area very clearly and was always happy to answer our questions. We never felt rushed, and he gave us plenty of time to enjoy the scenery and look for wildlife. Our driver, Melaku, was also fantastic. He drove carefully and patiently, especially on the park roads, and was very good at spotting interesting places and wildlife along the way. His friendly attitude made the long drives much more enjoyable. One of the highlights was exploring the spectacular landscapes around Awash National Park, including the Awash River and Awash Falls. The scenery was beautiful, with open savannah, rocky landscapes, and plenty of opportunities for wildlife viewing. We also enjoyed seeing birds and other animals in their natural environment. The two-day itinerary was a good balance of driving, sightseeing, wildlife viewing, and relaxing. Everything was handled smoothly, and we felt well taken care of throughout the trip. A special thank you to Yohans and Melaku for making the experience so enjoyable, and to Danakil Depression Tours for organizing everything so well. We would happily recommend this tour to anyone who wants to experience Awash National Park with a knowledgeable guide and a reliable driver.
