From the center of Bahir Dar, head south towards the main road, which is known as Gonder Road. Walk along this road until you reach the intersection with Debre Tabor Road. At the intersection, continue straight onto the Gonder Road and keep an eye out for local signage. After approximately 1.5 kilometers, you will come to a roundabout. Take the second exit at the roundabout to continue on Gonder Road. After about 500 meters, you will notice a small park area on your left. This is Shum Abo. The exact location is marked as 'J92W+743' on Google Maps.

Bicycle

If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Bahir Dar. Start your ride from the center of Bahir Dar and head towards Gonder Road. Follow the same route as described for walking. Make sure to maintain a moderate pace as you navigate the traffic. Once you reach the roundabout, take the second exit and continue until you see Shum Abo on your left. The location is approximately 2 kilometers from the center of the city.

Public Transport (Mini-Bus)

To reach Shum Abo via public transport, find a mini-bus station in the center of Bahir Dar, typically near the main market area. Board a mini-bus heading towards Gonder Road. Inform the driver that you want to stop at the Shum Abo area or look for landmarks along the route. After about 10-15 minutes, ask the driver to let you off at the nearest point to Shum Abo. You might need to walk a short distance to reach the park, which should be visible once you get off.
