• Public Transportation (Bus)

  To reach Meskel Square by public transport, head to the nearest bus station in Gojjam. Look for a bus that goes directly to Addis Ababa; these may be labeled as 'Addis' or 'Addis Ababa.' The fare usually costs around 100 to 150 Ethiopian Birr. The journey will take approximately 4 to 5 hours. Once you arrive in Addis Ababa, you may need to take a local taxi or a ride-sharing service to get to Meskel Square. Taxis are available outside the bus terminal, and the fare to Meskel Square is usually around 50 to 100 Ethiopian Birr.

• Shared Taxi

  Another option is to take a shared taxi (also known as a 'minibus' or 'bajaji') from Gojjam to Addis Ababa. These taxis leave when they are full, so you might have to wait a bit. The fare is similar to that of the bus, around 100 to 150 Ethiopian Birr, and the journey time is about 4 hours. Upon arrival in Addis Ababa, you can take a local taxi to Meskel Square for an additional 50 to 100 Ethiopian Birr.
