To reach Aruro Island via public transportation, first take a minibus from your location in Gurage to Wolkite. The minibuses are frequent and should cost around 30 Ethiopian Birr (ETB). Once in Wolkite, catch another minibus heading towards Butajira, which will cost approximately 20 ETB. Upon reaching Butajira, you will need to find a local taxi or a motorbike taxi to take you to the nearest jetty for Aruro Island. This taxi ride will cost around 50-100 ETB depending on negotiation.
