If you are starting from the center of Mekele, head towards the main road, which is known as Haileslassie Avenue. Walk north along this road for approximately 1 kilometer until you reach the intersection with Awra Amba Road. Turn left onto Awra Amba Road and continue for about 500 meters. You will see a large open area on your right; this is ጮምዓ መስቀል / ch’omi’ā Mekele Meskel Square. The square is a popular gathering place and often hosts events, so keep an eye out for any activities that may be taking place.

From any location in Mekele, look for a minibus heading towards the city center. Get on one that is heading towards 'Meskel Square.' These minibuses are common and can be flagged down on the street. Once on the minibus, it will take you directly to a stop near the square. After disembarking, simply walk a short distance to the square, which should be visible from the stop.
