Walking
From the center of Mekele, start at the main market area (known as 'Mercato'). Head southwest on the main road, known as Haile Selassie Avenue. Walk for about 15-20 minutes until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Bole Road. Continue walking straight for another 10-15 minutes until you see signs for public transport to 'Fyriplaka Beach'.
Public Transport (Minibus)
Once you reach Bole Road, look for a minibus that has 'Fyriplaka Beach' written on it. These minibuses usually wait near the side of the road. Board the minibus and pay the fare (usually a small amount). The bus ride will take about 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic. Be sure to inform the driver of your destination so they can let you know when to get off.
Walking (from minibus drop-off)
After getting off the minibus at the designated stop for Fyriplaka Beach, follow the path leading towards the beach. It is a short 5-minute walk from the minibus drop-off point. Look for signs that indicate the way to the beach and enjoy the scenic views along the way.
