Nestled in the Wolaita Zone, the Ajora Twin Water Fall presents a stunning display of nature's power and beauty. Located specifically in the Boloso Bombe woreda, the falls are locally known in the Haddaro mola kebele. Here, two waterfalls, Ajecho and Sokei, plunge dramatically into a pool below, creating a mesmerizing spectacle of cascading water, vibrant flora, and soothing sounds.The first waterfall, Ajecho, measures an impressive 210 meters in length and 2.5 meters in width, while the second, Sokei, is 170 meters long and 1 meter wide. The name 'Ajora' translates to 'deep' in the Wolaita language, aptly describing the deep plunge of the falls. The twin waterfalls eventually merge at a place called Buqula before flowing into the Omo Valley. The Ajecho fall originates from the Wolaita area, while the Sokei fall begins on the border between Kambatta and Wolaita.The area surrounding the falls is rich in biodiversity, offering opportunities for hiking and birdwatching. The falls are embraced by a dense forest that houses various wild animals. Visitors can engage with the local communities, learn about their culture, and hear stories about the area. The best time to visit is during the rainy season when the waterfalls are at their most powerful.To reach the falls, one can travel 458 km from Addis Ababa via Shashemene, 300 km via Hosaenna-Soddo road, 238 km from the capital of the region, Hawassa, 68 km from the seat of Wolaita zone, Sodo and 20 km away from Bombe the center of Boloso Bombe woreda.
