From the center of Gjógv, start by following the road leading westward towards the cliffs. Continue straight until you reach the fork in the road. Take the left path that leads into the hills. The trail is marked and will take you through scenic landscapes. The hike to Svartafoss Waterfall is approximately 2.5 kilometers and may take around 30 to 40 minutes depending on your pace. Follow the signs indicating Svartafoss to ensure you're on the right track.

If you have access to a car, drive from Gjógv towards the main road (Route 10). Continue on Route 10 for about 8 kilometers until you see the signs for Svartafoss. There is limited parking available near the start of the hiking trail. Make sure to park your vehicle safely off the road to allow other cars to pass. From the parking area, the hike to the waterfall is approximately 2.5 kilometers.
