Getting there

Car

From Gjógv, drive south on Route 10 towards Eiði. Continue on Route 10 for approximately 12 kilometers until you reach the junction with Route 70. Turn left onto Route 70 and drive for about 5 kilometers. Look for signs to Sandavágur and follow the signs. After another 10 kilometers, you'll reach Sandavágur. From there, follow the signs to Trælanípa, which is located on the coast just outside the village. It is recommended to park at the designated parking area and walk the short distance to the viewpoint.

Public Transportation

Take the bus from Gjógv to Tórshavn. From Tórshavn, transfer to a bus heading to Sandavágur. Once you arrive in Sandavágur, you may need to walk or take a short taxi ride to reach Trælanípa. The bus ride from Gjógv to Tórshavn takes about 1 hour, and the connection to Sandavágur is typically available every hour. It's advisable to check the local bus schedules in advance for the most accurate times.

Walking

If you prefer to walk from Sandavágur to Trælanípa, it's a scenic hike. Start from the center of Sandavágur and follow the coastal path leading towards the cliffs. The hike is about 3 kilometers and will take approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on your pace. Be sure to wear appropriate footwear and bring water, as the trail can be rugged in places.
