If you are traveling by car within Norðoyar, begin your journey from the center of Klaksvik, the largest town in the region. Head southwest on the main road (Route 10) toward the village of Viðareiði. Continue along Route 10 for approximately 22 kilometers (14 miles) until you reach the village of Sandvík. As you approach Sandvík, look for signs indicating the Sandvik Road Tunnel. The tunnel entrance is located at Sandvíkarvegur, 860, Faroe Islands. Parking is available near the tunnel entrance.

For those using public transportation, start at the Klaksvik bus station. Take the bus heading to Viðareiði (Bus line 300). The journey takes about 30 minutes. After arriving in Viðareiði, transfer to the bus heading towards Sandvík (Bus line 400), which will take you directly to Sandvík. Note that bus schedules may vary, so check the timetable ahead of time. Once you arrive in Sandvík, you can walk to the Sandvik Road Tunnel, which is only a short distance from the bus stop.
