Getting There

Walking
From Kallio, start at the intersection of Helsinginkatu and Alppiharjuntie. Head south on Helsinginkatu toward the city center. Continue straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Mannerheimintie. Cross Mannerheimintie and continue straight onto Kaivokatu. Follow Kaivokatu until you reach the entrance of the Helsinki Central Railway Station. From the station, walk towards the main square, which is Senate Square, located approximately 700 meters to the southeast. You will see the iconic white Cathedral as you approach the square.

Public Transport (Tram)
If you prefer to take public transport, find the nearest tram stop in Kallio, such as the 'Hämeentie' stop. Board tram number 3 or 9 heading towards the city center. Stay on the tram for about 5 stops and get off at 'Kansalaistori' stop. From there, walk approximately 500 meters southeast toward Senate Square, passing by the Kiasma Museum of Contemporary Art. Follow the signs to the square, which will lead you directly to the iconic Cathedral.

Alternatively, you can catch a bus from Kallio. Go to the nearest bus stop, such as 'Hämeentie' or 'Vallila', and board bus number 23 or 70. This bus will take you directly to the 'Kaisaniemi' stop. From there, it's about a 10-minute walk to Senate Square. Head south on Kaisaniemenkatu, then turn left onto Liisankatu, which will lead you directly to the square.
