    Torronsuo National Park is located in Tammela, accessible via main road 2. From Helsinki, drive approximately 119 km. Follow signs to Torronsuo National Park from road 2. Two parking areas are available: Kiljamo (Somerontie 732, Tammela) and Pehku (Somerontie 840, Tammela). Kiljamo fills up quickly during peak seasons; Pehku offers more parking. Parking is free. Note: Parking on the shoulder of road 282 is prohibited.

    From Helsinki, take a bus to Forssa. From Forssa, take a local bus towards Tammela. Get off near Kiljamo or Pehku parking areas. The bus trip from Helsinki to Tammela takes approximately 2h 55m and costs around €11-€17. From the parking areas, follow the signs to the park entrance and trails.

Torronsuo National Park, located in the Kanta-Häme region of Finland, is a captivating destination renowned as the deepest bog in the country, with peat layers extending up to 12 meters. Established in 1990, the park spans 25.5 square kilometers, offering visitors a chance to immerse themselves in a unique and tranquil natural environment. The park's landscape is dominated by open marshlands, providing a haven for diverse bird and butterfly species. Approximately one hundred bird species nest in the area, including species typically found in northern regions. The best places to observe birdlife are the Kiljamo bird watching tower and Idänpäänkallio. Visitors can explore the park via a network of well-maintained trails, including duckboard trails that allow for easy passage through the marshlands. The 1.5 km Kiljamonkierros Trail is an easy, scenic option that introduces visitors to the open bog and pine mire. The Suotaival Trail, at 8.6 km, is a longer, moderately challenging route that showcases the park's diverse landscapes, including a visit to an old quarry. Shorter, accessible trails like Suopursupolku and Suokukkapolku are also available. In winter, Torronsuo transforms into a snowy wonderland, offering cross-country skiing opportunities with up to 45 km of tracks. The Kiljamo parking area serves as a popular starting point, though the Pehku parking area offers more space during busy times. Torronsuo's history stretches back 8,500 years when the area was part of a shallow bay in the Yoldia Sea. Over time, land uplift and the accumulation of plant matter led to the formation of the deep peat layers that characterize the bog today. The area is also known for its rare minerals, with 15 of the 60 pegmatite minerals found here discovered for the first time in Finland.
