The primary way to reach Cafe Kobben is by ferry from Meritullintori. The ferry departs from the pier next to the red lighthouse boat Relandersgrund. A round-trip ticket costs €9 if purchased on the boat or €8 if purchased in advance online. The boat trip takes approximately 10 minutes.

From Helsinki city center, take the metro to Kaisaniemi station, then transfer to tram line 3 towards Katajanokka. Get off at the 'Katajanokka' tram stop and walk to Meritullintori. From there, take the ferry to Katajanokanluoto. A single tram ticket costs approximately €2.90.
