Car
If you're driving from any location in Captiva Island, head east on Captiva Drive (the main road) toward the bridge that connects to Sanibel Island. Follow Captiva Drive until it merges with Sanibel-Captiva Road. Continue straight until you reach the end of Sanibel-Captiva Road, where you'll turn left onto Periwinkle Way. After about 2 miles, turn right onto Tarpon Bay Road, and continue until you reach the traffic light. At the light, turn left onto Bunny Road, and follow it until you reach the intersection with Pine Island Road. Turn right onto Pine Island Road (FL-78), and continue for approximately 6 miles until you reach Bokeelia. The Useppa Museum is located on Useppa Island, which is accessible by ferry. You will need to park your car at the Bokeelia parking area and take the ferry to Useppa Island. The ferry ride costs around $20 per person round trip.
Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, start by taking the local bus service from Captiva Island to the Sanibel Island transfer station. From there, catch the bus to Pine Island Road. Once you arrive at Pine Island Road, you will need to take a taxi or rideshare service to the Bokeelia ferry terminal. The taxi or rideshare fare can vary, but expect to pay around $20-$30 one way. Once at the ferry terminal, purchase your ferry ticket to Useppa Island for about $20 per person round trip. Note that public transportation schedules may vary, so be sure to check the local bus timetable.
