Car
If you are traveling by car within Everglades National Park, start from the Ernest F. Coe Visitor Center. Take the Main Park Road (State Road 9336) heading west. Drive approximately 20 miles until you reach the intersection with the Royal Palm Visitor Center. Continue on the Main Park Road for another 4 miles until you see the sign for Otter Cave Hammock Trail. Turn left into the trailhead parking area. Note that there is a park entrance fee of $30 per vehicle, valid for 7 days.

Public Transportation
Public transportation options are limited in Everglades National Park. The best option is to take a shuttle service from Miami to the park. Look for shuttle services that drop off at the Ernest F. Coe Visitor Center. Once you arrive at the Visitor Center, you will need to either arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to get to the Otter Cave Hammock Trailhead, which is approximately 24 miles away. Please check the availability and costs of the shuttle service in advance.

If you prefer to cycle, you can rent a bike at the Ernest F. Coe Visitor Center. After renting, head west on the Main Park Road and follow the same route as the car directions. The ride will be about 24 miles and can take around 2 hours depending on your cycling speed. Make sure to wear a helmet and stay hydrated.
