Car
From any location in North Florida, head towards US-19 S. If you're coming from the north (like Gainesville), take I-75 S to FL-56 W, then merge onto US-19 S. If you're coming from the east (like Jacksonville), take I-10 W to I-75 S, then follow the previous directions. Once on US-19 S, continue until you reach the town of Tarpon Springs. From Tarpon Springs, turn onto Pinellas Ave (also known as US-19 ALT) and follow the signs for Anclote Key. There is no direct road to the lighthouse, so you will need to park at the Anclote River Park, located at 1119 Baillie Dr, Tarpon Springs, FL 34689. The park has a small parking fee (approximately $5 per vehicle).
Boat
After parking at Anclote River Park, you will need to take a boat to Anclote Key Lighthouse. You can rent a kayak or canoe from nearby rental services, or join a guided boat tour. If you opt for a kayak, the journey to Anclote Key will take about 30 minutes, depending on your paddling speed. If you choose a guided boat tour, prices typically range from $30 to $60 per person, and they may provide equipment. Make sure to check the tides and weather conditions before your trip.
Public Transportation
If you're relying on public transportation, take a Greyhound or Megabus to the nearest station in Tampa. From Tampa, you can take a local bus (HART) to Tarpon Springs. Once in Tarpon Springs, you will still need to get to Anclote River Park. A rideshare service (like Uber or Lyft) could be the most convenient option, costing around $10 to $20 to get to the park. From there, you will still need to rent a boat or kayak to reach Anclote Key Lighthouse.
