Start at the St. Petersburg Pier. From the Pier, walk to the nearest bus stop and catch the PSTA Route 18 bus heading south towards St. Pete Beach. The bus will take you along the scenic Gulf Boulevard. Stay on the bus for approximately 30 minutes, and get off at the stop closest to St. Pete Beach. Once you get off, walk towards the beach and follow the signs to McPherson Bayou, which is located just off the coast. You can also ask locals for directions as you get closer.

If you prefer to bike, rent a bike from one of the many rental shops in downtown St. Petersburg. Head south on 1st Avenue South, which turns into 5th Avenue South. Continue biking until you reach the Pinellas Trail. Follow the trail until you reach the junction with Gulf Boulevard. Turn left on Gulf Boulevard and bike for about 3 miles until you reach the St. Pete Beach area. From there, look for McPherson Bayou along the coast. The ride is about 6 miles one way, so be prepared for a leisurely bike trip!
