Getting There

  • Car

    To reach Velda Mound Park by car, start from downtown Tallahassee. Head northeast on E Tennessee St toward N Monroe St. Use the left 2 lanes to merge onto US-27 N toward Quincy. Continue on US-27 N for approximately 5 miles. Take the exit for I-10 E toward Jacksonville. Merge onto I-10 E and travel for about 3 miles. Take exit 196B for US-319 N toward Thomasville. Continue on US-319 N for about 4 miles. Turn left onto Baldwin Dr S, and the park will be on your right. Parking is available at the site, and it is free of charge.

  • Public Transportation

    If you are using public transportation, take the StarMetro bus route 1 from downtown Tallahassee. Board the bus at the nearest stop to your location and head toward the North Florida Fairgrounds. Transfer to route 5 at the Fairgrounds stop, which will take you closer to the area of Velda Mound Park. You will need to disembark at the stop closest to Baldwin Dr S. From there, it is about a 10-minute walk to the park entrance. Note that bus fares are typically around $1.00 per ride, so keep some change handy.
