Allerheiligen-Wasserfälle Travel Guide

Nestled in the Black Forest near Oppenau, the Allerheiligen Waterfalls (Allerheiligen Wasserfälle) offer a stunning natural display. Here, the Lierbach stream plunges down a steep gorge in seven distinct cascades, totaling a descent of almost 90 meters. The falls are framed by the mountains of Schliffkopf, Hundskopf, and Schwabenkopf.The area has a rich history. The Allerheiligen Monastery was founded in the 12th century, adding a cultural layer to the natural attraction. Although the monastery is now in ruins, its presence enhances the allure of the site. The waterfalls themselves were made accessible in 1840 thanks to the efforts of forester Eichrodt and forest warden Mittenmaier. A path was constructed, allowing visitors to witness the beauty of the falls.The maintained path leads along all stages of the falls, over wooden bridges and stairs. The walk to the top of the falls takes around 12 minutes. The path continues to the Allerheiligen Monastery ruins.
