The Gönneranlage, nestled along the Lichtentaler Allee in Baden-Baden, is a captivating park renowned for its exquisite rose garden and tranquil atmosphere. This verdant oasis provides a serene escape for visitors seeking natural beauty and relaxation.Originally, the site was part of the monastery Kloster vom Heiligen Grab and used for agriculture. In 1909, the garden was constructed in geometrical forms by Max Laeuger and officially opened in 1912. The garden is named after Albert Gönner, the mayor of Baden-Baden at the time, and was founded by Hermann Sielcken for his wife. Since 1952, the Gönneranlage has been a rose garden, boasting around 400 varieties.Visitors can admire thousands of roses, sculptures and the Josefinenbrunnen fountain designed in the Art Nouveau style by Munich sculptor Josef Flossmann. The fountain features figures personifying the bathing cure and the drinking cure. The bridge and fountain are named after Josephine Sielcken, the founder's wife. The park's pathways and seating areas invite leisurely strolls and contemplation, making it a must-visit destination in Baden-Baden.
