This design allowed for ample openings and light, a common feature in the city's medieval architecture.Throughout its history, the Maison des Quatrans has undergone several changes. In 1541, a Renaissance-style staircase tower was added in the courtyard. During the Battle of Caen in 1944, the house suffered significant damage, including the destruction of its roofs and a turret.
