Getting There

  • Public Transport

    From Chamonix, take the bus to Les Praz. From the 'La Flégère' bus stop, walk to the Flégère gondola. Take the Flégère gondola to the mid-station. From there, hike approximately 1.5-2 hours to Lac Blanc. Alternatively, take the Index chairlift from the Flégère mid-station to L'Index and hike to Lac Blanc. Bus fare from Chamonix to Les Praz: Approximately €3. Flégère gondola and Index chairlift round-trip ticket: Approximately €38.

  • Walking

    For experienced hikers, it is possible to hike from Chamonix to Lac Blanc, though this is a strenuous option. Follow signs towards Les Praz, then ascend towards the Flégère gondola. From the top of the Flégère gondola, follow the hiking trail to Lac Blanc, which takes approximately 1.5-2 hours. Note: This route involves significant elevation gain (1,350m) and requires 6-8 hours.
