    The Statue of Balmat and Saussure is located in Place Balmat in the center of Chamonix-Mont-Blanc. From Place du Mont Blanc (the main square), walk along Avenue de la Gare towards the roundabout. Take the first exit onto Rue du Docteur Paccard, then turn right onto Rue des Moulins. After 100 meters, turn left onto Place Balmat. The statue is on your left. The walk is approximately 10-15 minutes.

  • Public Transport

    Chamonix has an excellent bus network. Take a bus to the Chamonix Sud bus station. From there, walk north on Avenue de la Gare, turn left onto Rue Joseph Vallot, then turn right onto Place Balmat. The statue will be on your right. Bus travel is free with a guest card (carte d'hôte), which you can obtain from your accommodation. Without a guest card, a single journey costs approximately €2.

  • Taxi

    Taxis are available in Chamonix, particularly outside the main train station. A taxi from the train station to Place Balmat will cost approximately €10-€15. It is advisable to book in advance, especially in the evening.
