Car
If you're traveling by car, start from the town of Bourg d'Oisans, which is a common entry point to Ecrins National Park. From Bourg d'Oisans, take the D211 road towards Allemont. After approximately 10 km, you will reach Allemont. Continue on D211 until you reach the village of Huez. Once in Huez, follow the signs for Rte des Lacs. The drive from Bourg d'Oisans to Lac Noir should take about 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic. Parking is available near the lake, but be sure to check for any parking fees, especially during peak tourist seasons.

Public Transportation
For those using public transport, start by taking a bus from Grenoble to Bourg d'Oisans. Buses run regularly and the journey takes approximately 1.5 hours. Once you arrive at Bourg d'Oisans, transfer to a local bus heading towards Alpe d'Huez. After around 30 minutes, get off at the Huez stop. From there, you can either walk or take a taxi to Lac Noir, which is approximately 5 km away. Walking will take around 1-1.5 hours, while a taxi ride will take about 10 minutes and may cost around 15-20 euros.

If you are feeling adventurous and wish to hike to Lac Noir, you can start from Huez. Follow the marked trail that leads from Huez towards Rte des Lacs.
