If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Nice, a major city in the French Riviera. Take the A8 motorway heading towards Aix-en-Provence. After approximately 90 km, take exit 13 towards La Londe-les-Maures. Continue on the D558 road following signs for Hyères. As you approach Hyères, follow the signs for the Parc National de Port-Cros. The route will lead you to the port of Hyères, where you'll need to park your car (parking fees apply, approximately €10 for a full day). From there, take a ferry from the port of Hyères to the island of Port-Cros. The ferry ride takes about 15-20 minutes.

To reach Le fort du Pradeau using public transport, first take a train from Nice Ville station to Hyères. The train ride takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Upon arriving at Hyères train station, take a local bus (line 67) heading towards the port. The bus will drop you off at the port of Hyères. Once at the port, purchase a ferry ticket to Port-Cros (approximately €15-€20 round trip). The ferry ride takes about 15-20 minutes. After arriving at Port-Cros, follow the designated walking trails to Le fort du Pradeau; it’s a scenic hike of around 30 minutes.
