Board the bus heading towards 'Gare de Vaise' and get off at the stop 'Place de la Croix-Rousse'. From there, it's a short walk: head east on Rue de la Platière, then turn left onto Rue des Tapis, and you'll arrive at Place des Tapis.

If you're near the top of Croix-Rousse, start at the top of Rue des Capucins. Walk down the hill towards the main square, then turn right onto Rue de la Platière.
