    From Marseille city center, walk to the Saint-Charles train station. You can reach this station easily by taking Metro line 1 (the blue line) to the Saint-Charles station. Once at Saint-Charles, purchase a ticket for a train to Plan-d'Aups-Sainte-Baume. The train ride will take approximately 50 minutes. Upon arrival at Plan-d'Aups-Sainte-Baume station, exit the station and head southeast on Avenue de la Gare. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Route de Saint-Baume. Turn left onto Route de Saint-Baume and follow the signs leading to the Grotto, which is about a 30-minute walk uphill from the village.

    For the more adventurous, after arriving at Plan-d'Aups-Sainte-Baume station, you can opt for a hiking route. From the station, take Avenue de la Gare and then turn onto Route de Saint-Baume. Follow the marked hiking trails leading up into the forest. The hike is approximately 3 kilometers and will take around 1 hour, depending on your pace.
