If you are near the Vieux-Port area, take Metro Line 1 (the blue line) from Vieux-Port station towards La Timone. Get off at the next stop, which is the 'Joliette' station. From there, transfer to Tram Line T2 at the Joliette station. Board the tram towards 'Arenc-Euroméditerranée' and get off at the 'Fort Saint-Jean' stop. Once you exit the tram, follow the signs to the Esplanade du Fort Saint-Jean, where Place d'Armes is located.
