Shipyards on the Loire Island

The western Île de Nantes developed as an industrial and maritime landscape, with shipbuilding, warehouses, workshops and transport infrastructure shaping its character. The Prairie-au-Duc sector became closely associated with the activity of the former Nantes shipyards, whose large working spaces and river access supported the construction and repair of vessels. The End of Shipbuilding
