Walking
If you are in the Cimiez area, the Musée Matisse is within walking distance. Start at the Cimiez Roman Ruins, located at 33 Rue des Arènes. Head southeast on Rue des Arènes towards Avenue des Arènes de Cimiez. After about a 5-minute walk, turn left onto Avenue des Arènes de Cimiez. Continue walking straight for approximately 10 minutes, and you will reach the museum at 164 Avenue des Arènes de Cimiez. The museum is located on your right.
Public transport (bus)
To take public transport, find the nearest bus stop, which could be at 'Cimiez - Monastère'. Board bus number 15 towards 'Gambetta', and stay on the bus for about 5-7 minutes. Get off at 'Musée Matisse' stop. From there, the museum is just a short walk (approximately 2 minutes) down Avenue des Arènes de Cimiez. Note that tickets for the bus can be purchased at kiosks or on the bus for €1.50.
Taxi or Rideshare
If you prefer not to walk or take the bus, you can also opt for a taxi or rideshare service. The starting fare for taxis in Nice is around €7, with additional costs per kilometer. Simply provide the driver with the address: 164 Avenue des Arènes de Cimiez, 06000 Nice. This option is the most convenient but may be more expensive compared to walking or public transport.
