Car
If you are traveling by car from the Normandy Coast, start by getting onto the A13 motorway. Follow the signs for Caen and then take the exit toward Alençon on the A88. Continue on the A88 for approximately 30 kilometers. Take exit 19 for Ecouves and follow the signs toward Ecouves National Forest. The forest is located at latitude 48.545685299999995 and longitude 0.0293285. There is ample parking available near the forest entrance, and no additional fees are typically required for parking.
Public Transportation
To reach Ecouves National Forest using public transportation, start by taking a train from Caen to Alençon. Trains run regularly, and the journey takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive in Alençon, take bus number 5 toward Ecouves. The bus ride will take about 25 minutes. Be sure to check the local bus schedule for timings, as they may vary. The bus will drop you off near the entrance to the forest. Note that you may need to purchase a train ticket (approximately €10-€15) and a bus ticket (around €2-€3) for this journey.
