Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the city of Carentan, which is approximately 10 km away from Utah Beach. Take the D913 road heading northwest towards Sainte-Marie-du-Mont. Continue straight on D913 for about 7 km. When you reach the roundabout, take the first exit onto the D44 road. After 2.5 km, turn left onto La Madeleine road, and the Utah Beach Landing Museum will be on your right. Parking is available on-site, and there is no additional cost for parking.
Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, take a train from Caen to Carentan. You can check the train schedules on the SNCF website. Once you arrive at Carentan station, exit the station and catch bus number 8 towards Sainte-Marie-du-Mont. The bus will take you directly to the Utah Beach Landing Museum. The bus ride should take about 20 minutes. Be sure to check the bus timetable beforehand to ensure you arrive at the right time, as service may be limited on weekends.
Bicycle
For those who enjoy cycling, you can rent a bicycle in Carentan. Follow the same route as the car guidance but be mindful of the traffic. There are bike lanes along the roads leading to Utah Beach. The journey is about 10 km and should take approximately 30-40 minutes depending on your cycling speed.
