The Pont d'Espagne, or Spanish Bridge, is a stunning natural site near Cauterets in the French Pyrenees. It features cascading waterfalls, a historic stone bridge, and access to hiking trails leading to iconic destinations like Lac de Gaube. A popular destination for nature lovers, it marks the entrance to the Pyrenees National Park.

Car
From Cauterets, follow the D920 road for approximately 7km towards Pont d'Espagne. The drive is scenic, following the Gave du Marcadau river. Upon arrival, you'll find a large paid parking area. Parking costs €8 per day, with a maximum of €11 for over 12 hours. The Pont d'Espagne site is a short walk from the parking area.
Public Transport
From the Cauterets bus station, take the shuttle bus to the Puntas parking area at Pont d'Espagne. The shuttle operates regularly from July to August, with departures every two hours between 8 AM and 6 PM. A return service operates between 9 AM and 7 PM. Tickets cost €5.50 for a single journey and €8.50 for a return. Purchase tickets at the ACTL Caralliance office at the bus station.
Walking
For a scenic hike to Pont d'Espagne, follow the Chemin des Cascades from La Raillère. This trail is approximately 4.5 km with a 440m elevation gain and takes around 1.5 hours. La Raillère can be reached by the local bus service from Cauterets. Alternatively, you can walk from Cauterets to La Raillère, adding an extra 3km to the hike.
