Car
If you are driving, Grotte du Mas d'Azil is located at D119, Av. de la Grotte, 09290 Le Mas-d'Azil. From Toulouse, take the A61 motorway towards Carcassonne. Continue on A61 and then merge onto the A66 towards Pamiers. Take exit 10 towards Le Mas-d'Azil and follow the signs for D119. The drive will take approximately 1 hour 30 minutes. There is free parking available near the entrance of the cave.
Public Transportation
To reach Grotte du Mas d'Azil by public transport, take a train from Toulouse to Pamiers. The journey takes about 1 hour and trains run regularly. Once you arrive at Pamiers station, you can take a local bus (Ligne 70) towards Le Mas-d'Azil. The bus ride is approximately 20 minutes. Make sure to check the bus schedule ahead of time as services may be limited on weekends. The bus will drop you off near the entrance to the Grotte.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct option, you can take a taxi from Pamiers station to Grotte du Mas d'Azil. Taxis are available at the station and the ride will take around 20 minutes. The fare is approximately €30-€40, so be prepared for this additional cost.
Bicycle
For the adventurous, biking to Grotte du Mas d'Azil can be a rewarding experience. If you are in the vicinity of Le Mas-d'Azil, you can rent a bicycle in nearby towns. Follow local cycling trails to reach D119, Av. de la Grotte. Ensure that you have a map or GPS as bike paths may vary in signage.
