Square de la Patte d'Oie: A Serene Oasis in Reims

Established in 1733, the park has undergone several transformations, reflecting different landscaping styles throughout its history. Originally designed in the English style by Jean-Pierre Durand in 1896, remnants of the rock art evoking the Alps can still be seen. In 1994, the park was redesigned into a modern garden by landscape architect Alain Marguerit, coinciding with the construction of the convention center. Today, the park features a harmonious blend of historical elements and contemporary design. Water is a prominent feature, with ponds, streams, fountains, and cascades adding to the serene atmosphere. The park provides various amenities for visitors, including playgrounds for children, a bandstand, and sculptures scattered throughout. Majestic trees, such as sequoias, plane trees and black walnut trees, offer shade and contribute to the park's peaceful ambiance.
