Discover more about Pas de Soucy

Pas de Soucy, meaning "No Worry," is ironically named considering the turbulent geological activity that shaped this dramatic landscape. Located within the Gorges du Tarn, it's a spot where the river seems to vanish beneath a chaotic collection of fallen limestone rocks. This natural dam was created by a collapse of the surrounding cliffs, creating a unique and impressive sight. From the belvedere, visitors can witness the Tarn's waters surging into the depths, only to reappear downstream, reinvigorated by three underground springs. The site is dominated by the Roche Aiguille, a towering rock formation reaching 82 meters. Legend says that the devil, pursued by Saint Enimie, was attacked here by the rocks, which came to the saint's aid. The site is open from April to the end of October. A shop offers local products and souvenirs. For those seeking adventure, the Pas de Soucy is also a popular spot for canyoning and aquatic hiking. Note that swimming or diving in the Pas de Soucy is dangerous due to the strong currents and hidden obstacles.
