Getting There

• Train

  From Tours, head to the Tours train station (Gare de Tours), which is located at 2 Rue Édouard Vaillant. You can walk to the station from the city center or take a local bus. Once at the station, purchase a ticket to Chenonceaux. Trains to Chenonceaux typically require a transfer at the Saint-Pierre-des-Corps station. Board the train to Saint-Pierre-des-Corps, and upon arrival, transfer to a train going to Chenonceaux. The train ride will take about 30 minutes. When you arrive at Chenonceaux station, it's a short walk to the Château de Chenonceau.

• Bus

  From Tours, make your way to the central bus station (Gare Routière de Tours) located at 16 Rue Édouard Vaillant. Look for the bus service that operates to Chenonceaux. The bus journey will take around 40 minutes. Buses are less frequent, so check the schedule in advance to ensure you catch one that fits your itinerary. Get off at the stop for Chenonceaux, which is within walking distance to the Château.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer a more active option, consider renting a bicycle in Tours. There are several bike rental shops in the city center. From Tours, follow the cycling path along the Loire River toward Chenonceaux. The distance is approximately 30 kilometers and will take around 2-3 hours depending on your pace. The route is scenic and takes you through beautiful countryside, eventually leading you directly to the Château.
