From the parking area at Point de Départ du Sentier Blanc-Martel, the trail begins its descent into the gorge. Follow the well-marked path, initially a series of switchbacks, as it leads down towards the river. Be prepared for uneven terrain and some rocky sections. The first leg of the hike involves a descent of approximately 300 meters. There are no fees to access the trail.

Public Transport
During peak season (spring to early autumn), a shuttle service operates between La Palud-sur-Verdon and Chalet de la Maline, the starting point of the trail. From La Palud-sur-Verdon, the shuttle costs €4.50 per adult for a one-way trip to Chalet de la Maline. Check the current schedule and book in advance, as space is limited. The regional Zou! 450 bus line connects Castellane, Roumoules, Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, and Riez with La Palud-sur-Verdon. A single ticket on the Zou! 450 bus costs around €2-€4.
