Discover more about Château Sainte Roseline

Château Sainte Roseline is more than just a winery; it's a journey through Provence's history, art, and wine culture. Located in Les Arcs-sur-Argens, between the Gorges du Verdon and Saint Tropez, the estate dates back to the 12th century when it was a monastery. Today, it stands as one of only 18 Cru Classé estates in Provence. The estate is named after Roseline de Villeneuve, who was the mother priestess of the monastery in the 14th century. Legend says that during a harsh winter, Roseline was caught giving food to the poor. When asked to reveal what she was hiding in her apron, it miraculously turned into roses. She was canonized in the 19th century, and her body rests in a crystal shrine within the chapel. The chapel itself, built in the 11th century, is a historical monument adorned with art by Chagall and Giacometti.Visitors can explore the vineyards, the 12th-century cloister, and the recently renovated wine cellars. The estate is also known for its commitment to sustainable practices and organic viticulture. Wine tastings are available, offering a chance to sample the estate's red, white, and rosé wines. The estate also hosts exhibitions, events, and tasting workshops. In the summer, monumental sculptures are displayed in the cloister and on the plane tree avenue.
