    Discover more about Bobino

Bobino, located on Rue de la Gaité in the 14th arrondissement, is a celebrated Parisian venue with a rich history. The theater traces its origins back to the early 19th century and an Italian clown named Bobino who performed in the Luxembourg Gardens. The Théâtre du Luxembourg, where Bobino performed, became known as Bobino's theater. In the 1870s, the venue moved to Montparnasse and officially adopted the Bobino name. From then until World War I, it operated as a small concert cafe. After the war, Bobino rose to prominence as a leading music hall, becoming the primary venue on the Left Bank. It welcomed renowned international stars such as Edith Piaf, Georges Brassens, Barbara, Dalida, and Joséphine Baker. Even Lenin was known to frequent the theater during his exile in France. After renovations in the 1980s, Bobino faced financial difficulties and entered an experimental phase, hosting cabaret dinners and comedy shows. In 2010, a new director revitalized the theater, embracing its music hall history and expanding its program to include musicals and one-man shows. Today, Bobino continues to host a variety of performances, including concerts, musicals, and comedy shows.
