A historic Parisian park offering stunning views of the Invalides and a tranquil escape in the heart of the city.
The Esplanade des Invalides is a large, green public space in the 7th arrondissement of Paris, connecting the Hôtel des Invalides to the Seine. It offers stunning views of Parisian monuments and is a popular spot for leisurely strolls and picnics.
Opening times, essentials, and a few local tips gathered into one calmer, easier-to-scan planning section.
Public Transport
From central Paris, take Metro Line 8 or 13 to the Invalides station. Alternatively, several bus lines (28, 63, 69, 82, 83, 93) stop near the Esplanade. A single metro or bus ticket costs €2.10.
Taxi/Ride-share
Taxis and ride-sharing services are readily available throughout Paris. A taxi ride from central Paris (e.g., the Louvre) to the Esplanade des Invalides typically costs between €15 and €20, depending on traffic. Be sure the meter is running or agree on a fare beforehand.
Walking
The Esplanade des Invalides is within walking distance of many central Paris attractions, including the Eiffel Tower and the Musée Rodin. From the Eiffel Tower, walk east along the Quai Branly, then cross the Pont d'Iéna and continue along Avenue de la Bourdonnais. The Esplanade will be on your left. From the Musée Rodin, walk north along Boulevard des Invalides. The Esplanade will be on your right.
Parking
If driving, set your GPS to 1 Rue Fabert, 75007 Paris. Limited street parking is available, but it can be difficult to find. Several parking garages are located near the Esplanade, including Indigo Paris Invalides at 23 Rue de Constantine. Expect to pay around €4.30 per hour or €40-45 for a full day of parking.
