Square du Vert-Galant, a small triangular park located at the western tip of the Île de la Cité in Paris, offers a serene escape from the city bustle. Named after King Henri IV, nicknamed "Vert-Galant" (Green Gallant) for his lively character and numerous mistresses, the square features an equestrian statue of the king. The park's history is rich, having once been the site of bathhouses in the 18th century and a popular cafe and concert venue in the 19th century. However, frequent flooding led to its transformation into a public garden.
