From the center of Versailles, head towards the Versailles Rive Gauche train station. Start by walking down Avenue de Paris until you reach Rue de la Paroisse. Turn left onto Rue de la Paroisse and continue until you reach the train station. Once you arrive at the station, you can take the train to Paris. Make sure to purchase a ticket to Paris (Gare Saint-Lazare). The train ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Upon arriving at Gare Saint-Lazare in Paris, exit the station and head towards the nearest metro station, which is Saint-Lazare. Take Metro Line 3 (direction Gallieni) and get off at the next stop, Opéra. From Opéra, walk towards Rue de Rivoli and then follow the signs to Place du Châtelet, which should be about a 15-minute walk.

From Versailles, walk to the Versailles Rive Gauche train station and look for the bus stop for line 171 (direction 'Saint-Cyr - Les Vignes'). Board the bus and ride it until you reach the 'Gare de Saint-Lazare' stop in Paris. From there, you can switch to Metro Line 14 (direction Olympiades) and get off at Châtelet.
