Getting There

  • Ferry

    From Papeete (Tahiti), take the Apetahi Express ferry to Fare on Huahine Nui. The ferry operates three times a week, with tickets costing between $45 and $65. The journey takes approximately 3 hours and 20 minutes. From Fare, Huahine Iti is accessible by car or scooter via a short bridge.

  • Flight

    Fly from Fa'a'ā International Airport (PPT) in Papeete to Huahine – Fare Airport (HUH). Air Moana and Air Tahiti operate flights four times a day. The flight takes about 40 minutes, and prices range from $300 to $550. From the airport, taxis are available for approximately $8 to Fare, the main town, or $32 to the southern end of Huahine Iti.

  • Car/Scooter

    From Fare, cross the bridge to Huahine Iti. Rental cars and scooters are available in Fare. Europcar rents scooters for approximately 6,200 XPF (US$78) a day, and bicycles for 2,000 XPF (US$25) a day. Avis charges around 12,000 XPF (US$150) a day for air-conditioned cars. Be aware that gas prices can be higher on the island.
