Car
If driving from Papeete, take Route 1 (the main coastal road) southeast for approximately 30 km (40 minutes). Look for signs for Faaurumai and Hitiaa O Te Ra. The blowhole (FJG5+6RR) is located off the main road with roadside parking. There are no tolls on this route. Parking is free.
Public Transport
From Papeete, take the local bus ('Le Truck') towards Hitiaa O Te Ra. Buses leave regularly from the main bus station in Papeete. The journey takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour. Inform the driver you want to stop at Arahoho Blowhole; it's a short walk from the main road. A single bus fare from Papeete to Hitiaa O Te Ra is approximately 300 XPF.
Taxi
Taxis are available from Papeete. A taxi directly to Arahoho Blowhole will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Expect to pay between 3,000 to 5,000 XPF, but negotiate the fare or ask the driver to use the meter.
