Getting There

Walking
Start at the city center of Papeete, specifically at Place Vaiete, which is a popular gathering spot. From there, walk towards the waterfront along the Boulevard Pomare. Continue straight until you reach the main intersection with Avenue du Prince Hinoi. Cross over to the right side of the avenue and proceed straight. You will see signs for the Fautaua Valley trailhead. Follow these signs, and you will arrive at the entrance to the valley after approximately 30 minutes of walking.

From downtown Papeete, head to the Gare routière (bus station). Take bus number 10 or any bus that goes towards Pirae. Inform the driver that you would like to get off at the Fautaua Valley stop. The ride should take around 20-30 minutes. Once you get off, follow the signs leading to the valley entrance. It may require a short walk (about 10 minutes) to reach the start of the hiking trail.
