Getting There

Walking
If you are in central Papeete, start at the Place Vaiete, a popular public square. From there, head southeast toward Rue du 22 Septembre. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Rue de la Paix. Turn right onto Rue de la Paix and follow it until you reach the waterfront. You will see the beautiful harbor on your left. Continue walking along the waterfront promenade (Avenue Pouvana'a a Oopa) for about 10 minutes. As you walk, enjoy the scenery and local shops. After approximately 1 km, look for the signs directing you to Pā'ōfa'i Gardens. The entrance will be on your right, just before the large, colorful 'Tiki' statues.
