Getting There

Walking
If you are in central Papeete, start at the Place Vaiete, a popular public square. From there, head southeast toward Rue du 22 Septembre. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Rue de la Paix. Turn right onto Rue de la Paix and follow it until you reach the waterfront. You will see the beautiful harbor on your left. Continue walking along the waterfront promenade (Avenue Pouvana'a a Oopa) for about 10 minutes. As you walk, enjoy the scenery and local shops. After approximately 1 km, look for the signs directing you to Pā'ōfa'i Gardens. The entrance will be on your right, just before the large, colorful 'Tiki' statues.

Public Bus
Begin your journey at the main bus terminal located near the Place Vaiete. Look for the bus line that goes towards 'Paofai,' which is often marked on the front of the bus. Board the bus and enjoy a short ride. Ask the driver to let you know when you reach the stop for Pā'ōfa'i Gardens, or look for the 'Parc Paofai' sign. Once you get off the bus, the gardens are a short walk away. Head towards the waterfront and follow the signs to the entrance.

Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Papeete. Start your ride from the central area, heading towards the waterfront along Avenue Pouvana'a a Oopa. This scenic route will take you directly to the entrance of Pā'ōfa'i Gardens. The gardens will be on your right after approximately 1 km of biking. Make sure to follow the bike lanes where available and enjoy the coastal views along the way.
